Greetings from the International Students and Scholars Center. As you look forward to finishing the spring semester and finals week, we want to send you some reminders about registering for fall 2022 classes.

Fall 2022 registration

As you prepare for the fall 2022 semester, the ISSC would like to remind you that F-1 and J-1 international students must be enrolled full time by the start of the fall semester on Aug. 18, 2022. Please make sure you are meeting normal full-time enrollment requirements.

How many credit hours must I enroll in as an international student to be full time?

To maintain SEVIS compliance, F-1 and J-1 international students must enroll in a full course of study and be inside the U.S. Students outside the U.S. cannot maintain SEVIS compliance.

  • Hybrid courses combine in-person and online components and may not be permitted by some government-sponsored programs.
  • If you are a government-sponsored student, make sure before registering that you are permitted to take online or hybrid classes.

Are you graduating this upcoming fall 2022 semester?

If fall 2022 will be your final semester, or if you are completing only thesis or dissertation hours and will be a part-time student, you must submit a request to the ISSC for approval of your part-time enrollment no later than Aug. 18, 2022. The Reduced Course Load eForm will open for the fall 2022 semester on July 18, 2022.
