My name is Joelle Zlaket and I am the Assistant Director for Sponsored Student Initiatives. I am happy to welcome you to Arizona State University for the spring 2026 semester! We hope that you have arrived in Tempe and have settled in comfortably. If you haven’t arrived yet, we wish you safe travels to Tempe in the coming days!

A little bit about me: I love dancing to Arabic music, going out with my friends, going to concerts, and traveling. I look forward to getting to know you better during your time here at ASU.

If you are a sponsored student (for example, sponsored by a government agency or company) or plan to become one, please read this email carefully and sign up for the mandatory Spring 2026 Sponsored Student Welcome and Canvas course. If you are not a sponsored student and do not plan on becoming one during your time at ASU, you may disregard this message.

As a sponsored student, you are required to attend our Sponsored Student Orientation:

Registration is required. This event is only for students who are attending ASU as a sponsored student. Dinner is provided

Attendance at one of the orientation sessions is mandatory for all new spring 2026 sponsored students, including former Global Launch students and transfer students. During the orientation, you will have the opportunity to meet other sponsored students and learn about valuable ASU resources as well as your responsibilities as an international sponsored student at ASU.
 

• Sponsored Student Canvas Course: If you are a sponsored student, it is required that you complete the Canvas course and submit the quiz by January 25, 2026. You must achieve a score of 100% on the quiz at the end of the course to receive credit for completion.
  Self-enroll in the Canvas course
• Priority Tasks: If you have not already done so, please visit  MyASU and complete your priority tasks. Remember to complete the SEVIS New Student Check-in by the first day of classes! Additionally, ensure that you are aware of your full-time enrollment requirements as an international student.
• Financial Guarantee: Please coordinate with your sponsor to obtain your final financial guarantee for the spring 2026 semester. Once received, submit it to both [email protected] and the Student Business Office at [email protected].
