I-901 SEVIS Fee
International students issued an initial I-20 or DS-2019 are required to pay a mandatory SEVIS I-901 fee to the U.S. Student and Exchange Visitor Program (SEVP).
After receiving your acceptance and I-20, the Department of Homeland Security requires payment of your SEVIS I-901 fee. You should have your I-20 and passport available to complete the payment.
- Visit SEVP to make your payment. You will receive a payment receipt.
- After making your payment, you may then schedule your visa appointment with the U.S. Consulate.
- Proof of payment of the I-901 fee will be requested before you enter the U.S.
- Failure to pay the SEVIS fee may jeopardize your immigration status
