International students issued an initial I-20 or DS-2019 are required to pay a mandatory SEVIS I-901 fee to the U.S. Student and Exchange Visitor Program (SEVP). See SEVIS fee payment tutorial
This fee is paid to the U.S. Consulate when you apply for a new F-1 or J-1 visa. Students entering the U.S. with a Canadian passport are not required to obtain a F-1 or J-1 visa.
This fee will be automatically added to your ASU billing account every semester. The International Student Visa Administration fee covers the cost of SEVIS reporting compliance, record management and immigration advising support for F-1 and J-1 international students.
The OPT Case Management Payment covers the cost of SEVIS reporting compliance and record management for students on post-completion OPT.
