fteReminder

Greetings from the ISSC. With session A coming to a close and session B beginning shortly, we want to remind all F-1/J-1 students about the enrollment requirements to maintain their immigration status.

Session A ends on February 27, 2024. Session B begins March 11, 2024. The last day to add a session B class without college approval is March 12, 2024.

Dropping a class that puts you below full-time after the session B add deadline may impact your ability to return to full-time enrollment. Failure to meet full-time enrollment requirements will jeopardize your immigration status. Please contact the ISSC before dropping a class if you are unsure whether you will still be meeting the enrollment requirements.

Receiving an E grade for a course does NOT directly negatively impact your immigration status. Full-time enrollment requirements include in-person credit requirements:

  • Undergraduate students must have at least 9 in-person credits
  • Graduate students must have at least 6 in-person credits
  • Graduate students with a TA/RA/GSA position must have at least 3 in-person credits

Hybrid courses are considered in-person courses and count toward the minimum in-person credit hours requirement.
