The events are listed in Arizona time, but you are encouraged to attend no matter where you're located. For all Zoom events, you are required to register using your ASU email address.

Fashion Forward: ASU Clothing Drive and Clothing Closet
Friday, April 5
9 a.m. - 4 p.m.
Maroon Gym, SDFC, Tempe campus.

Join us for a clothing exchange promoting sustainable fashion! Throughout the day, we'll offer secondhand clothing for all students to take away for free. The closet will remain open while supplies last, with take-away quantities limited based on the volume received. Don't forget to bring your own reusable bag for your takeaways.

First Year Student Connect

SSV Amphitheater, Tempe campus.

The First Year Student Connect is a program designed for first-year undergraduate students to connect with each other and learn tips on adjusting to new life and navigating resources at ASU. Through this program, you will be able to CONNECT with other students and the ISSC staff, LEARN tips on adjusting to a new culture and resources on and off campus, as well as discover opportunities such as getting involved on campus, volunteering, and searching for on-campus jobs. You can also INFORM the ISSC team if there is anything else that we could do to enhance your first-year student experience. Most importantly, you are not alone during your first year at ASU! We hope you will join us.

Learn Arizona: Botanical Gardens

Meet at Ground Floor, Student Pavilion, Tempe campus.

Come join us in the afternoon to explore the beautiful plants and natural beauty at the Desert Botanical Gardens in Phoenix with the ISSC and Cultural Connections! Wander with us along garden trails lined with towering cacti and blooming flowers from around the world, or explore the art gallery!

We will meet at the Tempe campus and travel together via public transportation to the gardens. If you're planning to meet us there from another campus, please RSVP and follow the provided directions on how to join us.

This event provides a platform for new Indian students to socialize, make friends, learn more about ASU and its culture, and enjoy authentic Indian cuisine.

Game Night
Wednesday, April 10

P.O.D. Market, Hayden Library, Tempe campus.

Roll your dice and be the board game King or Queen for the night! ISSC and the library will host a tabletop game night once a month on the 2nd Wednesday of every month in Hayden Library for international students, as well as domestic students! This event is a great way to get to know other students, as well as librarians and the library resources. If you have a board game you would like to request for one of our game nights, please let us know in advance, and we will try to accommodate it!

Google Fellowship and its Recipient's Story

Kyle Zeng, a PhD student in ASU's School of Computing and Augmented Intelligence, has become the first ASU student to receive the prestigious award. The School of Computing and Augmented Intelligence is a part of the Ira A. Fulton Schools of Engineering.

"I was thrilled when I knew I got the award," said Zeng from Japan, where he was attending a Google hacking event. "This award means a lot to me."

The Google PhD Fellowship is awarded globally to outstanding students in computer science and related fields.

Global Connect is part of the ISSC Connect Series, offering an opportunity for everyone to come together as global citizens, share knowledge, explore opportunities, learn about global cultures, connect with one another, and build lifelong friendships.
