Global Professional Preparation Academy: Job Search Strategies and On-Campus Jobs Workshop

During this session for international students, we will provide an overview of the various ways to search for jobs, with a focus on on-campus ASU jobs. Come ready to take notes and learn how to find positions that fit your experience, interests, and goals!

Learn Arizona: Places to Visit Trip

Meet on the ground floor of the Student Pavilion,
Tempe Campus if you plan to travel with the group.

New in Arizona? Want to explore cool places off-campus or even across the country? Join our Learn Arizona series at ASU! Not only will we dish out insider tips on awesome spots to check out, reachable by public transport or walking, plus farther destinations that require some planning but during this event we are heading to Papago Park for a picnic and scenic area that can be explored by walking, hiking, and biking!

We hope this helps you plan your epic spring adventures while having a great time checking out a beautiful local spot that is easy to get to and full of diverse activities.

Transportation will be covered for the first 30 students to RSVP and attend the event, plus lunch!

Your Global Peer Mentors will go with you on transportation to Papago Park or get there on your own- directions will be given in the confirmation email once you RSVP. If you decide to meet us at the park, please be there by 12:30pm.

First Year Student Connect

The First Year Student Connect is a program designed for first year undergraduate students to connect with each other and learn tips on adjusting to new life and navigating resources at ASU. Through this program, you will be able to connect with other students and the ISSC staff, learn tips on adjusting to a new culture and resources on and off campus, as well as learn opportunities such as getting involved on campus, volunteering, and on campus job search. You can also inform the ISSC team if there is anything else that we could do to enhance your first-year student experience. Most importantly, you are not alone during your first year at ASU! We hope you will join us.

Are you curious about what is needed when asking for references for a job or graduate school application? We have answers! Join this session for international students to learn how to approach these conversations with confidence and ease.

Networking for On-Campus Jobs

Come meet staff and faculty from around ASU that hire international students. We want to connect you to departments for possible future jobs! You will not be hired at this event but you can learn more about the job openings and what will be available soon! Come ready to learn more about getting a job on campus, meet new people and find out about how to better apply to on-campus jobs. When you RSVP, we will follow up with more details and some helpful information to get you ready for this event to ensure that this event can positively impact your on-campus hiring. Feel more confident meeting new people, entering and exiting conversations, networking, and schmoozing at large gatherings, such as career fairs and conferences.

Global Connect is one of the ISSC Connect Series to provide an opportunity for everyone to come together as a global citizen, share knowledge, share opportunities, learn about global cultures, connect with one another, and build a lifelong friendship.
