ISSC is here for you

The International Students and Scholars Center welcomes you to the fall 2023 semester at Arizona State University. Our staff and advisors are here to help you, and can assist with student visa questions, documents and compliance concerns. We also offer a wide range of programs and workshops, held both in person and virtually throughout the semester.

In order to provide the support and services you need, there are several ways you can contact us, no matter where you are located. 

  • Email us at issc@asu.edu. Your question will be answered within two business days. Emails are best for general or individual specific questions that are not time-sensitive. 
  • Call us at 480-727-4776. Calling is best for time-sensitive general questions. 
  • -- DC = J-1 -- Contact us at 480-727-7125 or schedule an appointment.
  • -- DC = everyone EXCEPT Havasu -- Visit our Tempe campus office in the Student Services Building, suite 170, Monday through Friday, 8 a.m.–5 p.m. Visits are best for general questions that are not time-sensitive, and for signatures on SSN employment offer letters.  
  • -- DC = Havasu only -- To meet with an advisor at the ASU at Lake Havasu location, please contact Laura Shuffler, designated school official, at laura.shuffler@asu.edu or 928-854-9707.

Updated drop-in immigration advising

On Monday, July 31, we began offering In-Person Drop-In Immigration Advising at the Tempe campus. For advising hours on the other ASU campuses, please visit our webpage. Our new In-Person Drop-In Immigration Advising schedule at the Tempe campus is: 

  • Mondays from 1 to 3 p.m.
  • Tuesdays from 9 to 11 a.m.
  • Thursdays from 1 to 3 p.m.
  • Fridays from 9 to 11 a.m.

Students interested in meeting with an advisor in person should come to the ISSC office on the Tempe campus and check in with our front desk. Students will be seen on a first-come, first-served basis. To meet with an advisor, you must check in with our front desk by 10:45 a.m. on Tuesdays and Fridays, and 2:45 p.m. on Mondays and Thursdays.

We will also continue to offer Virtual Drop-In Immigration Advising for those who are unable to come to one of our offices to meet with an advisor in person. No matter where you are in Phoenix or around the U.S., you can join us for Virtual Drop-In Immigration Advising. Our new Virtual Drop-In Immigration Advising schedule will be: 

  • Mondays from 9 to 11 a.m.
  • Tuesdays from 1 to 3 p.m.
  • Thursdays from 9 to 11 a.m.
  • Fridays from 1 to 3 p.m.

 

The Zoom link for Virtual Drop-In Immigration Advising will appear on our website during the times noted above. You must be logged in using your ASU email address prior to clicking on the link. If you have issues with the link not appearing, please make sure your computer’s time is set to Arizona time and you have cleared your internet browser’s cache.
