We hope this message finds you well. With the summer semester coming to an end and the beginning of the fall semester at Arizona State University around the corner, we would like to remind international students working on campus about the number of hours that can be worked Aug. 14–20.

International students are permitted to work on campus for up to 40 hours per week during the summer break and up to 20 hours per week during the fall and spring semesters. Since the fall semester begins during the middle of the week, we want to clarify the number of hours you are allowed to work during that specific work week.

  • The fall 2023 semester begins Thursday, Aug. 17.
  • For the work week beginning Monday, Aug. 14, international students must adhere to working up to only 20 hours (week of Aug. 14–20) for on-campus employment.
  • Working more than 20 hours for on campus employment may jeopardize your immigration status.
  • Working off campus without authorization can also jeopardize your immigration status.

Please review our website for more information about off-campus work authorizations. If you have any questions, email the ISSC directly.
