On July 17, 2026, the U.S. Department of Homeland Security published a final rule eliminating Duration of Status for certain nonimmigrant students and exchange visitors. SURI Virtual Workshop for International Students

The Ira A. Fulton Schools of Engineering at Arizona State University offers opportunities for qualified students to gain engineering research experience. Participants acquire an in-depth understanding of what it would be like to pursue a doctoral degree through a full-time (30 to 40 hours/week) eight-week summer research program. Eligible U.S. citizens, permanent residents, ASU-sponsored F-1/J-1 visa students and international applicants receive a $5,000 stipend and on-campus housing. Research projects across a wide range of engineering fields are available. This workshop will be providing general information like application information, proposal writing tips etc.. Previous participant will be joining to share their research journeys and get valuable advice on the application process.
