Welcome to the fall 2026 semester

We hope your summer was fun and that you stayed healthy and safe. We are sharing a reminder to all students about the fall 2026 enrollment requirements.

Fall 2026 registration

All F-1 and J-1 international students must be enrolled full-time by the start of the fall semester on Aug. 20, 2026. It is the university’s expectation that you will attend ASU in person for the fall semester. Please make sure you are meeting the F-1/J-1 student full-time enrollment requirements. ASU Sync classes and iCourses are considered online and will not count toward the in-person enrollment requirement. If you need assistance with scheduling classes, please contact your academic advisor.

Full-time enrollment requirements

Are you graduating this upcoming fall 2026 semester?

If fall 2026 will be your final semester, or if you are completing only thesis or dissertation hours and will be a part-time student, you must submit a request to the International Students and Scholars Center to receive approval of your part-time enrollment no later than Aug. 20, 2026. Please submit your Reduced Course Load Request eForm prior to the first day of classes.

Reduced Course Load

Please note that the Reduced Course Load Request eForm must be submitted prior to the first day of classes. However, neither your academic advisor nor the ISSC are required to approve your eForm request by the first day of class. Please do not contact your academic advisor or the ISSC to expedite approval of this eForm request. You will not be penalized if your eForm is not approved by the first day of classes, as long as it was submitted prior to Aug. 20, 2026.
