On July 17, 2026, the U.S. Department of Homeland Security published a final rule eliminating Duration of Status for certain nonimmigrant students and exchange visitors. The rule was scheduled to take effect on September 15, 2026. Please visit our Duration of Status Rule Change webpage for additional information and updates.

Update: On September 14, 2026, a U.S. federal judge has issued an order blocking the new rules from going into effect at this time. As a result, the new rules will not take effect on September 15, 2026, and the current immigration rules remain in place while the court case continues.

Plan ahead for your trip to the Polytechnic campus

For those of you attending classes at the Polytechnic Campus, ASU provides intercampus shuttles as a no-cost, sustainable transportation option. As a reminder, shuttles from the Tempe campus to the Polytechnic campus run every 15 minutes.

Please keep in mind that shuttles can fill up quickly, especially when many riders are heading to the same campus. To ensure you arrive at the Polytechnic campus on time, consider taking an earlier shuttle. Intercampus shuttles offer free Wi-Fi, bike racks, storage, and USB charging ports for your convenience.

Here are some additional tips to help you navigate the shuttles more effectively:

  • Use the shuttle tracker to view real-time shuttle locations. Keep in mind that shuttle arrival and departure times are approximate due to potential traffic delays.
  • Follow @asu2asuShuttles on X (formerly known as Twitter) to stay informed about any route changes.
